Some of us challenge traditional roles as teenagers and some question the rules and predictability later on. We did a bit of both. The purpose of HelloCreativeSisters.com is to help bring creativity into lives. We share our joy and optimism with information that supports and encourages pursuits that enrich our souls. We believe that when are souls are ready, any of us can become artists. We just need a little help from our sisters.
Kate and Sue are sisters, artists, friends, workshop instructors and the founders of HelloCreativeSisters.com.
Even though I am a lifelong practicing artist, I like you have creative ups and downs. My figurative sculptures (also called art dolls, characters, or puppets) were actually born from a dare. They took shape through tremendous self-doubt. Polymer Clay, in my hands, allows my figures (me) to be playful, sarcastic, kind, tender or sweet. When I teach, I find polymer clay figures also allow my students to find their voices, their inspiration and their unique expression. At helloCreative Sisters I want to start to teach the how so that you too can reach your why. And besides when isn’t it wonderful to play with dolls?
Are you doing what you truly love? After twenty-eight years as a practicing pediatrician, work that had always been rewarding began to feel unchallenging. Life was good but something was missing. More than 10 years ago, when I “jumped off”, I expected to immerse myself in color, paint, and design. But while opening to “see the world” to paint it, I discovered that I had to study and practice mindfulness, gratitude. I needed to learn effective communication to start to live fully. Since teaching is thought to be the best way to learn, I am lucky. Teaching, for me, is my way to share and give back.
